When you feel this country is no longer your own...

Written by Madeline Happold

If you feel scared

If you feel hurt

If you worry this country

You call home, a place once

of refuge, is no longer yours  —

(If you ever felt safe enough

To say it once was)

Please know we are not all

This way.

Come to me.

Let me cradle you in comfort

And assure you we are not all

This way.

Downtrodden, oppressed, rejected,

Silenced  — we will learn to speak again.
