Hear in Now is a collaborative string trio that performs original jazz compositions. The group brings together elements from their individual backgrounds and regions for a unique sound experience that explores improvisation through composed pieces. Having been exposed to and mentored by luminaries such as Anthony Braxton, Nicole Mitchell, George Lewis, Butch Morris, William Parker, and Sabir Mateen, as well as organizations such as the AACM and the Black Rock Coalition, the group’s repertoire is an amalgamation of a spectrum of musical influences. Hear in Now are Tomeka Reid on cello , Mazz Swift on violin, and Silvia Bolognesi on contrabass. Learn more:
