The POWER Project: Intersectional Zine Library, Cont'd

  • Comfort Station 2579 North Milwaukee Avenue Chicago, IL, 60647 United States (map)

"Programmed by Nina Yeboah, Curated by Euree Kim

The P.O.W.E.R. Project is co-produced by Comfort Station and the Art Leaders of Color Network (ALCN). Throughout the month of June, the project will host a series of lectures, workshops, self-care exercises, and more in the aim of creating an ‘empowerment hub’ where people inspire each other to engage in a multitude of creative social justice practices.

Event Description:
The theme of the Intersectional Zine Library is 'Healing and Empowerment'. The library, curated by Euree Kim, recognizes that zine-making practices have been used as a powerful tool for people with disabilities and queer people of color as self-advocacy and activism. The collection includes zines produced by artists, activists and community organizers from local communities and beyond. The library invites you to read the zines, donate your own, or request zines you think should be included. The Intersectional Zine Library will be open 12pm - 6pm, from June 15 - June 21.

**Suggested Donation: $5. Your donation goes toward supporting the P.O.W.E.R. Project Grant, a fund for participating artists with projects in alignment with the P.O.W.E.R. Project’s vision. The library is accessible to all, regardless of ability to donate.**"
